Print & Glass is a newly developed system from Biedermann that opens several possibilities for the design of prints in combination with glass.
As special adhesive interlayer enables mounting of the prints from behind as well as in-between glass. The application is simple; the interlayer as well as the print have to be cut according to the size of the glass and then processed in a ‘sandwich’ in a Biedermann vacuum thermo table called VacuVers.
This type of application adds a protection aspect to the display as well as allowing a high quality, expressive presentation of the images. The unique system ensures that no space is left between the glass and the print after the direct mounting process. This allows a first class presentation of images with intensive and brilliant colours without any visual interruptions. Depending on the kind of application, different transparency levels form opaque to translucent can be achieved. Furthermore, face mounting of prints on glass has some distinct advantages compared to the optically similar face mounting on acrylic glass; glass is far more scratch resistant and does not absorb humidity, therefore expansion or deformation of the material is non existent. A further advantage is the Health and Safety factor since the stability of the glass is considerably enhanced by the mounting process. If the glass display were to ever be accidently broken then the interlayer prevents any shattering or splintering of the glass.
